Until this fund can produce the amount preferred by the donor, an expendable gift of $4,000 has been made to support a $1,000 award for 4 years.ĭonor has given an expendable gift of $4,000 to fund a renewable scholarship for 4 years while the fund is growing. The Approved Amount will be available for awards for the upcoming academic year – which can vary year to year. Every spring the Approved Amount will be calculated from the sum of the Spendable Amounts posted during the prior calendar year. Spending from endowments is limited to the payout and spending rates approved by the Foundation’s Board of Directors. Endowed scholarships are permanent funds. The fund was established as a Stable Value Endowment. With an unwavering attention to detail, Mary's considerate attention saved the lives of countless patients.Ī proud graduate of BSU, Mary has always placed a premium on the value of her BSN and the expertise of her teachers to set her up for a successful, 4-decade career in nursing. Throughout her career, Mary was continuously focused on ensuring that all of those in her charge received the highest levels of respect, dignity, and care possible. From 1995 until 2000, Mary simultaneously worked day-shifts for Metro Home Health Care and night-shifts as an on-call nurse for a local Hospice organization. Mary also began working as a nurse for Metro Home Health Care in 1991, where she would eventually retire from in 2012. In 1981, Mary began working across numerous units at Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn, MI until 1993. After obtaining her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Ball State University in 1971, Mary went on to have a deeply meaningful 41-year career across numerous facets of the nursing profession.įrom 1971 to 1981, Mary worked for Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI, performing duties as a Charge Nurse ('71-'72), Dialysis Nurse ('72-'73), and Nursing Instructor ('73-'81). The Mary Lois (Henderson) Stanislav Nursing Scholarship was established to provide an enduring reflection of the love and commitment to the field of nursing by Mary Stanislav.
